OUR MISSION

At the Seattle Tutoring Coalition (STC), we are dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students in our community by empowering tutors and program coordinators. Our mission has two parts: First, is to provide free, high-quality training to volunteer tutors, equipping them with effective strategies to make a meaningful impact. The second part of our mission is to foster a network of collaboration and professional growth for individuals managing nonprofit tutoring programs.

WHAT WE DO

The Seattle Tutoring Coalition is a community of professionals from diverse tutoring-focused organizations, united by the shared goal of supporting and advancing tutoring excellence in the greater Seattle area.

• Monthly Networking and Development: We bring program managers and volunteer coordinators together through regular meetings, creating a platform for professional development, resource sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.

• Comprehensive Training for Tutors: Throughout the school year, we offer free, interactive workshops designed to equip tutors with innovative techniques and practical tools. These trainings focus on fostering impactful and adaptive tutoring approaches.

• Open to All: Our sessions are open to tutors, parents, teachers, and anyone passionate about improving the lives of youth. Whether you’re a seasoned tutor or just starting out, you’ll find value in our resources and community.

By working together, we aim to build a stronger, more connected network of tutors and program leaders, all striving toward a brighter future for our students.
